Handmade paper Inkjets
Most Recently I have been extremely intrigued by the idea of preservation and holding on to the things that mean the most to me and to others within a line of any family history. This work feels more like a meditative exercise as I beat the pulp, pull a sheet, and print the image. The paper is made with my children's outgrown clothes and then re-distinguished as printed imagery. A process that then continues even after the print when I sit down and decide which areas of color would be best suited a bit brighter or less realistic by coloring ontop of them. The images begin to reference illustration creating an alternate reality.
